The S2K Bus Disconnect function is another means
for reducing heat emission and power consumption. It is about disabling
the processor from the system bus in case the processor is in the
"standby" mode. In this case the processor switches to the lower power
consumption mode and its temperature drops essentially. All modern
chipsets support this function, but motherboard manufacturers took the
idea of its implementation without enthusiasm.
